Friday 30th May - Double Headline Night with: Sons of the Delta
Double Headline NIght
Sons Of the Delta
Sons of the Delta was formed by two of the top bluesmen in the SouthWest UK, Mark Cole (vocals, harp, slide guitar) and Rick Edwards (guitar, vocals). They play an earthy, passionate blend of electric/acoustic juke joint and street corner delta blues flavoured with the many roots music styles from the southern states of the USA – from delicate, intimate acoustic numbers to full on house-rockin' electric blues. The ‘Sons’ collectively have nearly 50 years experience of playing the blues in Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia. Formed as a duo they expanded and added drums (Martin Fitzgibbon) and electric and stand-up bass (Lyndon Webb).
In an industry dominated by manufactured bands and artists, it is an extremely rare thing to find a real band, a band of brothers, fellow musicians that truly connect, both musically and in friendship; Brothers Groove are just that. This Birmingham based band are winning the hearts and minds of the UK blues scene with their characterful groove, superior tones, seriously catchy songs and genuine Brummie friendliness, and the word is spreading fast.
